Our Process
100s of tonnes of waste material is generated on the Island every year from construction and demolition sites and repair work. This ranges from concrete and bricks, to glass, tar products and soil.
Process: Once the materials have been assigned to a category, they must be graded and crushed. We must comply with WRAP; this is effectively a quality control measure to ensure the aggregates that we sell are up to a high standard. To pass this test, we must complete a particle distribution survey on a random sample of the aggregates. The process essentially is sieving the base product to make sure the sizes of the aggregates are correct and within wrap standards.
Anyone can visit La Colette to either off-load waste materials or buy the locally recycled aggregates.
