Waste In

Base products come into AAL from all over the island. These materials vary from broken concrete and rubble to soil. The lorries carrying the loads drive onto the weighbridge to be weighed so we can record how much is coming into AAL and how much is leaving each day. Then, the lorries must head to the inspection zone, where the materials are assessed and given a category.

Some loads will be rejected if we don’t recycle the materials on our site; they will then have to be recycled elsewhere in a centre that specialises in that particular material. These include; Metal (unless embedded in concrete), green waste, ceramics, and plasterboard, for example.
